1. Agreement to these terms

These terms govern your use of Hygeia. By creating an account, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or over and able to form a legally binding contract to use Hygeia. Each account may hold one role, either customer or cleaner, and the details you give us must be accurate.

3. What Hygeia is

Hygeia is a marketplace that connects customers with independent cleaning professionals. Cleaners are not employees of Hygeia. Each cleaning job is a separate arrangement between a customer and a cleaner, which Hygeia helps to set up, verify, and support.

4. Bookings

When you book a clean, we match you with an available, verified cleaner. A booking is confirmed once a cleaner accepts it. You can cancel or reschedule from your booking page; please give as much notice as you can.

Recurring bookings continue automatically on the schedule you set, until you pause or end the series.

5. Cleaner verification

Cleaners must pass ID verification, a DBS check, and provide proof of insurance before they can accept jobs. We review documents by hand and may reject or remove a cleaner at any time if our standards are not met.

6. Payment

At present, payment for a job is arranged directly between the customer and the cleaner. Hygeia does not process payments today. We plan to introduce in-app payments, at which point these terms will be updated to reflect how that works.

7. Reviews and conduct

Only customers who booked a job may review the cleaner for that job, and vice versa. Reviews must be honest and relate to the job itself. We may hide a review that breaches these terms. Abusive, discriminatory, or unsafe behaviour by any user may result in suspension or removal from the platform.

8. Disputes

If a job does not go as expected, either party can open a dispute from the booking page. Our team reviews the booking timeline and any evidence provided, and works with both parties to reach a fair outcome.

9. Liability

Hygeia takes reasonable steps to verify cleaners, but we cannot guarantee the conduct of any individual user. To the extent permitted by law, Hygeia is not liable for loss or damage arising from a booking between a customer and a cleaner, beyond our verification and support responsibilities described in these terms.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, provides false information, or poses a risk to other users. You can close your account at any time by contacting support.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Hygeia grows. If we make a significant change, we will let you know through the app or by email. Continued use of Hygeia after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

13. Contact us

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@hygeiaservices.uk, or by calling 0800 000 000.
